Pre-Departure
This is a post from a previous blog. Angela and I have since decided to make a new blog just for our trip. We will each be weighing in to give insights into our stay at Hotel Honda:
I've just set up this blog using my the browser on my phone. Right now, this is serving mainly as a distraction from cleaning the kitchen before the land-lords arrive for a walk-through of the house-- probably tomorrow. The cleaning of the kitchen has been made especially gruesome by the fact that we also decided to use the self-cleaning feature of our oven while cleaning the kitchen. It is at least 15 degrees warmer in the kitchen than anywhere else in the house.
While this may not seem like the best use of a beautiful memorial day, Angela and I's looming trip will make all the sweating and bleaching worth-while. I guess that the trip is the real reason for setting up this blog; I hope to keep a record of memorable experiences that we can look back upon in the future. Of course, creating such a record will force me to evaluate and understand these experiences in the moment more so than I usually do as well. After a few weeks of practice, this blog may even become interesting enough for others to enjoy.
I will end on that note for now, as scrubbing greasy cabinets and stove burners in a virtual sauna beckons.
